Summary
Ski and snow pants should be chosen upon careful consideration, taking into account our skills, budget, and time spent on the slopes. Fabric and its parameters are of utmost importance, as they directly influence our comfort and joy of skiing. It's worth to choose appropriate thermal underwear to be worn underneath ski pants too. It protects against chafing and hypothermia, as it creates a mid-layer between the skin and pants. During the purchase, take a careful look at all the seams and their finish. Remember to keep an eye on safety. Safety comes first on the slopes.

Technologies employed by 4F in the manufacture of pants
RECCO
A system of two-part passive protection - a sensor (called a reflector) sewn into the fabric and a detector handled by a rescue team. In case of an avalanche, rescue teams can reach much quicker a person wearing garments with the Recco sensor, as waves emitted by the detector are reflected by the sensor sewn into the clothing. The sensor is maintenance-free.
THERMODRY SYSTEM
It's a quick-drying polyester fibre. The fundamental task of THERMODRY is ensuring proper ventilation of the body and maintaining dry skin surface. THERMODRY wicks the sweat away towards the outer part of the fabric, where it quickly evaporates.
YKK
YKK is a global leader in the production of fastening products, especially zippers. Types of zippers manufactured by YKK: metal, spiral, vislon.
DWR
DWR stands for durable water repellency. It's a type of permanent impregnation that ensures waterproofing. Thanks to it, outdoor fabrics do not absorb moisture. It is used for fleece garments, waterproof clothing, and tents. However, its effectiveness is directly affected by the number of washes the garment is exposed to.
SEAMSYSTEM SST
Technology ensuring sealing against leaking seams and micro-holes formed in the fabric during sewing.
U-PROTECT
It's a membranous fabric with high water resistance parameters and very good breathability. Clothes with U-PROTECT membrane protect you against snow, rain, and wind. The parameters of every U-PROTECT level, in this case 100%, mean that during increased physical effort, excess moisture produced by the body is quickly and effortlessly wicked away, leaving the sensation of great comfort.
1️⃣ How to choose ski pants?
Ski pants adjust to the shape of the figure and work together with your body. When choosing ski pants, the first thing to do is to look at the tags, especially the type of material they are made of. The type of membrane is of particular importance here. Ski pants with a membrane of 10000 and larger will provide good protection against moisture. In addition to the material and parameters, it is worth noting the execution of the various elements of the outfit, including detachable braces, waist adjustment, zipper on the side of the leg, profiled legs, inner gaiters.
2️⃣ How to choose snowboard pants?
Snowboard pants are much looser and spacious than ski pants. They usually have no braces. To choose the right snowboard pants, first of all, check the material, especially the type of membrane from which they are made. The membrane is responsible for waterproofness and breathability – the higher the parameters, the better the quality of the material. If you want high protection, choose snowboard pants with a membrane of 10000 or more.
3️⃣ How to choose the size of ski pants?
Good ski pants should be adjusted to the body in such a way as to ensure freedom of movement at all times. Before buying any pants, it is a good idea to check your dimensions, i.e. height and hip circumference, and then compare them with the available pants sizes.
